FACEMELTER IS THE CHAMPION!!!!!!

Wow, What a season it was. The championship battle was fought hard, and the winner is now crowned. The veteran has overcome the rookie. You have to hand it to Veggie, he started the year not knowing much about fantasy football, let alone football in general, but with diligence and tireless research, Veggie's team made it all the way to the championship. I tip my hat off to you, as should everyone. You now are due $20. You get your money back. Nothing lost, nothing gained, except the wonderful experience of fantasy football.

Facemelter, what can I say. You predicted back in week three that you would be in first place, and needless to say, you were correct. With some very strategic trades, you sured up your team, to become the top contender, and the first champion of the SUPER CRUNCH LEAGUE!!!!!! Congratulations. I will endow you with the hunge that you deserve.

We are all winners in the end, realize this. I want to thank everyone for all their great participation on the blog this year, and making the inaugural year of The Super Crunch League so exciting!! I couldn't have done it without all the support from everyone and all the great blog posts. The blog will stay up until next year, feel free to use it as a blog sketch pad (or a bletch if you will).

I will dream about these glorious days of the past and look with hope and joy towards next years draft.

Love forever

Ode to Frienemy 2

I made this when I thought that I would be playing FrienemyII for two consecutive weeks, but she seems to have pulled out of the consolation bracket (well done), so this picture will serve as congratulations on that feat instead:

and then there were four . . . .

We have come such a long way. I am so proud of all the participation up to this point, I am holding back tears, TearsofJoy actually. If you can do what you can do, and thats all you can do, that's all anyone can ask. Its been such a Delight being surrounded by wonderful players with such hearts of Gold. Some teams have reached for the stars, and some have flown so low and must feel like Crap!. By the way, Its getting very cold outside, the Snow should be falling By-Tor too long, the cold might Bring some Pain, know what I mean? But after the thaw, the snow will Melt and our Faces will glow once again and we can all be Friends, or Enemies, however it turns out.

What did that all mean? Beats me, but hears a little story for you . . . .

There was a fantasy football league called the Super Crunch League, founded by a gentleman of the name Jesse Hamerman. It all started as a projection of happiness, a little click of the mouse pad, and poof! A world was created. What happened in that world, you ask? Well nothing short of a miracle. Emotions were kept in check and happiness abounded. Sundays were the day of choice for all the people involved. Money was exchanged, books were sent (thank you By-Tor) and ulcers were exasperated. All in the name of fun. Some people would scoff at such a pass-time, but not our people, people with hearts and minds that couldn't be won over with propagandist nonsense, but instead with cold, hard stats. It is a statistical world, full of figures proving out points and illustrating physical laws. There is a law of Survival of the Fittest. And the fittest are:

FACEMELTER!!!!!!

SKULKING DEMONICS!!!!!

VEGGIE DELIGHT!!!!!

FRIENEMY!!!!!

But the celebration will soon end, remember, there can only be one winner. The winner shall get $100 at this point!! (it can be more, there are still some funds to be collected), and second place a measly $20. Who will it be? Only time and the Lord knows.

The lesson we can take from this story is to let your voice be heard. Don't be afraid to follow your passions, no matter how arduous of a task it may be.

We now have the final four! Its hard to believe, in such a year of ups and downs, and now there is only two weeks left until a champion is crowned. Until then. . . . .

for the Jigger . . .

perhaps an old timey, sexist cartoon will entice frienemy to pay dues...?

. . . . . at fantasy football

messaging wins . . .

Wow. We've all made it this far, and there is only one more week to go!!!! I keep thinking of myself as a broken record, but its still very close! Only next week left, and no one has a wee little star next to their names (meaning you're a lock for the playoffs). Anything can happen, and most likely anything will. Remember, there is a bright little light at the end of it all.

And then there were five . . . . .

With the Gold Team having a shocking collapse and losing first by one point to By-Tor (pretty crazy), and then to Crap!!!! (also, pretty crazy), he is now out of contention for the prize. His team disappointed after having so much talent, Clinton, Santana, Donavan, and Terrell (sounds like a R and B group, heh?) That leaves just five, five amazingly talented teams, five over-achievers trying desperately to attain the glory.

Facemelter has pulled into first place. Last week it was the Jigger, and this week its Face, can he hold on to the top spot? His point totals are impressive (not as impressive as some), but with a loss next week, he can fall hard. Its going to be a tough battle, most likely the most meaningful one out there, whoever loses this one can fall out of the top four, who will it be? It looks like Facemelter is nigh unstoppable (remember folks, he did promise to be in first) with Larry, Phillip, Steve, Ryan, and Ronnie, can he be beat?

And congratulations to . . .

No one thought he would make it this far, but with diligent, tireless attention to the game, Veggie is making a huge push towards the finish line. Having made 50 moves (almost double the moves of everyone else, well, almost everyone), Veggie has acquired some serious talent, who they are, I don't really know, after looking at his team, it looks like he is starting everyone he drafted. But Thomas, wow, Thomas is doing amazing for you, Randy has stepped it up as of late, and Lance (might he be an amazing pick-up?), Lance is parading around the football field acting like a star. Lest us not forget, this is his first time playing fantasy football, so I say congratulations, you've made it this far, can you make it all the way? This week might be a tough, you are facing Gold, but in this recession, Gold has lost alot of value.

Also . . .
Frienemy is up against By-Tor this week, who is turning into quite the opponent. With Greg, Donald, Frank, and Chris, she has the depth and talent to smash her oponents. With a big win this week, and a Jigger loss, she can move right on up into the top, and maybe play her life partner for all the marbles (by marbles I mean hand in their relationship, a la Seinfeld).

It is getting quite late, wow, look at the time . . . .

(I couldn't resist, please forgive me) (this is from something called "Penis Puppetry") and I am running out of gas. But remember! The league continues into week 16, where one person will be crowned a champion, and there is a consolation champion as well. So keep going, there is always something to play for (we can't all be winners).

Also, the money!! I am still collecting league dues, please find it in your heart to participate if you have not yet done so (you know who you are). The winner of it all will be getting the bulk of the money, and second place will be getting their money back (whatever the prize ends up being). So whoever wins wil be at least getting $80 duckets at this point, pretty nice, eh?

Till next week, may all your dreams come true.

swing states . . .

Its been a pretty exciting weekend, some games are well decided and some aren't. It should be an interesting end game between Veggie and BringdaPain. Its so close, can Andre Johnson pick up the slack and pull Veggie through? Veg has been making quite a push in the league, and with no one actually a lock for the playoffs yet (I know, its insane), with a win this week and next, he can push into one of the top spots.

Another very interesting game is Frienemy vs. Jigger. If Jigger can miraculously get a ton of points from Walter (who once graced my roster)(come to think of it, so did Colston) and hope that Garrard does nothing, he can be a lock. But if not, it all comes down to the last week, the interesting thing there is that Jigger is playing Facemelter, so one of them has to lose, the pressure is surely on.

Last one pretty much a lock, but who knows: Gold Team vs. Crap!!! With an amazing turn of events last week, an adjustment of the score of Gold's game vs. By-Tor, By-Tor gained one point and won the match-up retroactively!!! Its pretty crazy, I don't know the details (but as an astute commish, I will surely look into it) but nevertheless, it pushed Gold down a couple of spots, and with a loss here, he could kiss his hopes of glory goodbye. Will Fred Taylor get more than 10 points? I know someone who is hoping against hope that he doesn't.

Good Luck tomorrow everyone! The future is bright.
